Greek Cat
The cat came in the other night limping. Took her to the emergency vets Sunday morning where they said its fractured (from feeling - not X-rays) and that amputation is required to her front left leg. They wanted me to leave her there and they'd begin the procedure Monday morning. I wasn't satisfied with the way they were talking so I took her away and text a vet I know who said bring her in Monday.

Took her in yesterday, they treated her as an emergency so I left them with her for X-rays etc and awaited the call.

They phoned me a couple of hours later saying there is a fracture and unfortunately there is a pellet present which has fractured the leg. They also found another one in her abdomen which has no cut etc to show a point of entrance so it's a historical incident, therefore someone has shot her on two separate occasions.

Took her yesterday afternoon to the royal vet college in South mimms. They said they believe they can repair the fracture with an integral pin etc priced between £3-5k! Anyway I gave them the go ahead and they've just phoned me to say that she's woken up from the op and everything appears to have gome well thankfully!

Bunch of cunts out there. Luckily the one in the abdomen hasn't caused any damage and is on to be left in situ.

Mrs walked into the bathroom yesterday in tears as one of the kitten's baby teeth fell out.

I dread to think what she'd be like if anything serious ever happened.

I hated cats until I lived with a mate who had some, they're pretty interesting animals.

Ours keeps her happy and stops her talking about babies. Win win.

20 is a pretty fair innings BR.

The cat's probably not enjoying herself much either, although they can put on brave faces when they want to.

Some animals are more worth saving than some humans. if I ever met the idiot who shot a crossbow through that staffie's head in the woods last year I would have no hesitation on pulling the trigger on him, even though after considered thought I would know it would be a stupid thing for me to do, but some people are shits

Our dogs got run over last year. The youngest was in a bad way. Run him up to vets in Upminster, said his lungs damaged from impact and they have to take him to the vets college at South mimms to get him on a ventilator.. £1,000 a day!! Everyday they said its touch and go etc.. 8 days later and he miracusiously pulled through! Can't help thinking they robbing bastards but what do you do? His like one of the kids. The place is huge, as big as queens, just a lot fuckin cleaner!

Thanks for all the nice messages. I will pass them on to her haha.

They have phoned me to say she is doing well, has even walked using the broken leg and she should be ready to come home tomorrow, two days ahead of their prediction!

Re: Greek Cat
I wish your cat well Huffers!

My 20 year old has been pretty ill since last Oct, not kept count as I don't really want to know but I have a pile of receipts that must add up to near 3K.
Had 3 blood tests, a thyroid test and multiple consultations, injections and courses of tablets.

This morn I had to take her in for an ultrasound scan and the results mean she is now having a biopsy, cost will be around £750 and then there will be the treatment on top.

Getting to the point where I can't afford any more bills and wondering just how long she has left esp if she has something sinister which it looks like.

One thing to keep in mind is that any pet is considered your property by the law. Any ideas on the culprit? After handing said miscreant a black eye, I'd slap them with a full medical bill.

Obviously the chances are slim, mind.

Fair play huffers , you must love that cat.

£3-5k is a ridiculous amount of money. Surely you could buy several cats with that?

Fair enough, I'm not a fan of cats however if you've made a commitment to look after an animal you have to put your money where your mouth is.
